George Sieburg is a North Carolina native and has lived in Asheville for over twenty years. For 15 of those years he ran, with his father, Able Rent-A-Jon & Waste Services (yeah, that’s right, a portajon company). Since then, he has worked as Director of Finance, Operations & HR for Homeward Bound and Director of Operations for Jordan Peer Recovery. He was also the interim Executive Director of the Asheville City Schools Foundation

Leslie Carey is a life-long community activist and volunteer, as well as a mother of three living in Hendersonville, NC. Ongoing investment and action in community at large is one of the core values and directives that was instilled in Leslie early on by her family. 

Roberto "Bo" Hess

Board Director

Bo Hess, BSW, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, lives in Asheville, NC and is a practicing social worker and psychiatric clinician in an acute psychiatric hospital. Bo also has a small private practice in Asheville, NC.

Chelsea White-Hoglan

Chelsea White-Hoglen, MSW has lived in Western NC her entire life and currently lives in Waynesville with her partner along with their toddler & dog.

Antanette Mosely

Asheville City Councilwoman Antanette Mosley has deep roots in the Asheville community. At the age of five, she was the very first student to integrate Saint Eugene Elementary school in North Asheville. This experience helped shape her passion for achieving equality and equity for all persons.

Jay Carey

Jay Carey is a retired Army Combat Veteran, lives in Hendersonville with his wife Leslie, between them four boys and a handyman business. Jay is also a former Congressional and State Senate candidate. 

Crystal Salinas MacKinnon

Crystal Salinas MacKinnon

Executive Director

Crystal Salinas MacKinnon grew up in South Texas and came to North Carolina in 2016, by way of Chicago, in pursuit of the opportunity to continue her education [read: moved in with parents]. She earned her B.A. in Philosophy followed by her Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Crystal is also a certified community mediator. 

Veronika Gunter

Veronika Gunter

Secretary

Veronika Gunter is a Southern Appalachian native, the daughter and sister of immigrants, who also descends from proud hillbillies. Veronika is co-owner of a renewable energy company and provides strategic communication services to nonprofits and B corporations.
